Senior Software Engineer - Tools & Infrastructure for Robotics

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team at RoboForce, an innovative AI robotics company. This Senior Software Engineer remote position focuses on developing tools and infrastructure that enhance our robotic systems. You will play a crucial role in architecting the Fleet Management System and creating tools that enable engineers to debug complex robotic behaviors. Join us in revolutionizing the way robots operate in demanding industrial environments.

What You'll Do

  • Design and build a real-time, web-based command center for the Fleet Management System that tracks the health and operational state of deployed robots.
  • Architect the end-to-end real-time control and streaming pipeline for the Remote Assistance System, ensuring minimal latency and jitter.
  • Develop visualization tools for 3D robotics data, trajectories, and telemetry to assist in debugging and performance analysis.
  • Build backend services for Over-the-Air (OTA) software updates, including version management and rollout control.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of software and hardware components.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in full-stack, backend, or infrastructure engineering.
  • Deep understanding of real-time communication technologies such as WebSockets, gRPC, or WebRTC.
  • Strong proficiency in Python (FastAPI), Go, Node.js, or C++, with experience in high-throughput backend systems.
  • Experience designing schemas for relational and time-series data.
  • Comfortable designing and operating systems on AWS or GCP.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with modern robotics software stacks.
  • Experience with data serialization formats like Protobuf or MCAP.
  • Experience with visualization frameworks such as Three.js or WebGL.
  • Familiarity with Rust is a plus.
