About the Role

We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer - Energy Systems and Data Center Infrastructure to join our innovative team at Loadwise. This Senior Software Engineer remote position focuses on developing software solutions that intelligently connect data center infrastructure to real-time energy markets and grid signals. As a key player in our founding team, you will have full ownership from day one and direct access to the founders.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement software that optimizes energy consumption in data centers.
• Develop protocols and data pipelines that connect industrial systems to energy markets.
• Work on time-series forecasting and model predictive control for energy assets.
• Collaborate with a small team to bridge the gap between operational facility reality and software solutions.
• Engage with regulatory frameworks and energy market design to influence platform capabilities.

Requirements

• 3+ years of production experience in software engineering.
• Domain knowledge in energy systems, data center infrastructure, or grid operations.
• Strong individual contributor skills with the ability to take ownership of projects.
• Experience with AI tools as force multipliers in development.
• Willingness to maintain a strong presence in Berlin, with relocation support provided.

Nice to Have

• Experience with demand response programs and grid signal integration.
• Familiarity with EU energy market regulations.
• Knowledge of facility systems and energy infrastructure.
