Senior Software Engineer - Cloud & Distributed Systems

About the Role

We are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer remote position at Superbet! As we expand into new markets and develop innovative technologies, we are looking for a talented engineer to join our team. This is a unique chance to work with one of the largest sports betting operators in Europe, handling over 90 million bets per month.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate closely with geographically distributed engineering teams to design and implement scalable and robust software solutions.
• Enhance the existing platform to increase business functionality driven by end-user configuration.
• Improve system automation for scale, resiliency, and deployment.
• Maintain, enhance, and create common platform components and libraries using technologies such as AWS, Erlang, Go, and Kafka.
• Work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand and drive requirements and improvements across the platform.
• Build on our CloudNative platform, leveraging AWS technologies to speed up delivery, scale, and resiliency.
• Enhance our observability tooling and infrastructure to better understand system capabilities.
• Lead initiatives and tasks, driving them to completion while fostering continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team productivity and efficiency.

Requirements

• A minimum of 4+ years of hands-on experience in a large-scale production environment.
• Experience engineering high-quality, highly scalable software in any object-oriented or functional programming language.
• A willingness to learn new technologies and a talent for clean coding, simple solutions, automated testing, and continuous deployment.
• A passion for working in the cloud and automation, with experience in distributed systems.
• Experience building and improving observability.
• Bonus points for experience in AWS (DynamoDB, OpenSearch, MSK, S3, Cognito, etc.), knowledge of Kubernetes and Terraform, and prior experience with data engineering principles involving Airflow, Kafka, or Snowflake.

Nice to Have

• Experience in AWS services and cloud architecture.
• Knowledge of functional programming principles.
• Familiarity with data engineering tools like Airflow and Kafka.
