Senior Software Developer in Test (SDET) - Remote

About the Role

We're hiring a Senior Software Developer in Test (SDET) to join our dynamic team. This remote position allows you to work from anywhere in Canada while focusing on quality assurance and automation efforts across complex integration and software development projects for a large security client.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test solutions using Python, ensuring high-quality, reliable, and scalable systems.
• Build and enhance automation frameworks from scratch or improve existing ones.
• Utilize automated testing tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress for effective test execution.
• Conduct API testing using tools like Postman and REST clients.
• Engage in integration and end-to-end testing to validate system functionality.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate CI/CD tools like Jenkins and GitHub Actions into the testing process.
• Manage version control systems such as Git to maintain code integrity.
• Work within Agile environments, contributing to the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software testing, with a strong focus on automation.
• Proven experience as an SDET or Automation Engineer.
• Strong programming skills in Python, the primary language for test automation.
• Experience building and maintaining automation frameworks.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and version control systems.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.

Nice to Have

• Experience testing integration-heavy systems or distributed architectures.
• Knowledge of performance or load testing tools.
• Experience with test data management and data validation across systems.
• Understanding of security testing practices.
