Senior Security Engineer - Enterprise Security (Remote)

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Security Engineer - Enterprise Security to join our team at Samsara. This remote position is an exciting opportunity to work with a pioneering company in the Connected Operations™ Cloud space. As a Senior Security Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building, operating, and maintaining our core security infrastructure, ensuring the safety and integrity of our operations.

What You'll Do

• Lead the development of Samsara’s Enterprise Security roadmap, balancing technical considerations with business impact.
• Write clear documentation and runbooks for enterprise security workflows.
• Collaborate with engineering, IT, and security teams to implement security tools and policies effectively.
• Assist the Security Operations team during investigations, providing technical expertise.
• Partner with engineering teams to triage and remediate vulnerabilities in systems and applications.
• Mentor junior engineers, enhancing their skills and security instincts.
• Champion Samsara’s cultural principles, promoting a collaborative and inclusive environment.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in an Enterprise Security role with a proven track record of impact.
• Deep expertise in enterprise security engineering best practices, particularly with SASE tools like Zscaler.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, with experience in building automation tools.
• Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Tines and AWS Lambda.
• Familiarity with common security platforms like Crowdstrike, Zscaler, and Wiz.
• Ability to assess security problems and their impact on business operations.
• Must reside in the Pacific or Hawaii time zones.

Nice to Have

• Experience with zero trust and least privilege access management.
• Familiarity with modern SaaS platforms for security program development.
• Experience with infrastructure as code deployments using Terraform.
