Senior Quality Platform Engineer - Remote

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Quality Platform Engineer to join our fully remote team at Circle. As a Senior Quality Platform Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining the internal tooling and quality infrastructure that empowers our teams to deliver high-quality software faster and with greater confidence. This position allows you to work from anywhere in the world, contributing to a platform that enhances the developer experience and quality strategy.

What You'll Do

• Develop and maintain the Quality Platform, including frameworks, libraries, and pipelines that facilitate high-quality delivery.
• Build reusable, language-agnostic automation libraries and internal SDKs.
• Own CI/CD quality gates, test orchestration, and smart execution logic.
• Implement and maintain recording/playback tools, contract testing, and observability hooks.
• Enhance developer experience by improving feedback loops and creating self-service tooling for engineers.
• Build systems that convert quality noise into actionable insights and own metrics dashboards.
• Define and codify standards that scale across teams, ensuring safe automation practices.
• Create “golden paths” for developers, providing out-of-the-box test setups and fully managed test environments.

Requirements

• Strong experience in modern testing frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Jest).
• Solid software engineering background in languages such as TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, or Python.
• Experience building internal tooling and a deep understanding of CI/CD.
• Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of architectural patterns and quality telemetry.
• Ability to design high-leverage systems and implement shift-left and shift-right testing practices.
• Proficient in English at a CEFR Level C2.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AI-assisted testing tools or test generation frameworks.
• Knowledge of VCR/web mocking proxies and API schema validation.
• Exposure to static analysis tools and code quality scanners.
