Senior QA Automation Engineer - Toolbox App

About the Role

Join JetBrains as a Senior QA Automation Engineer (remote) and play a crucial role in enhancing the Toolbox App. Your expertise will help shape the automation quality from end to end, impacting millions of developers worldwide.

What You'll Do

• Take ownership of the product’s test automation strategy, ensuring high confidence and stability.
• Design, write, and improve maintainable automated tests integrated with product code.
• Ensure high test coverage for critical functionality and long-term stability of the test suite.
• Stabilize flaky tests and improve overall test reliability.
• Participate in building and enhancing test infrastructure and tooling.
• Monitor build configurations with autotests, analyze test failures in TeamCity, and identify bugs.
• Collaborate closely with developers to identify issues early and enhance testability.
• Report issues in YouTrack and verify that fixes work across relevant branches.

Requirements

• Established experience with test automation in complex products.
• Strong programming skills in Kotlin and/or Java.
• Experience with JUnit and a deep understanding of test design and architecture.
• Ability to understand and work with both test and product code.
• Experience building automated testing infrastructure and processes.
• Proactive mindset with strong analytical skills to investigate failures and CI issues.
• Good communication skills and enthusiasm for supporting other automation engineers.

Nice to Have

• Experience with performance or security testing.
• Experience testing desktop or multiplatform applications.
• Experience with CI/CD systems (TeamCity or similar).
