Mid-Level Automation Engineer - Workload Automation Remote

About the Role

We are looking for a Mid-Level Automation Engineer - Workload Automation Remote to join our team. In this role, you will act as the bridge between development and production, ensuring that automated workflows and file transfer processes run reliably, securely, and at scale. This position is heavily focused on job scheduling, batch processing, and Managed File Transfer (MFT) rather than traditional software development or ETL pipeline building.

What You'll Do

• Promote and deploy automation workflows from Dev/QA into Production.
• Monitor and support production jobs and batch processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve workflow failures and incidents.
• Manage and optimize job scheduling and orchestration tools.
• Configure and maintain file transfer workflows (SFTP, FTPS, AS2, etc.).
• Ensure proper logging, alerting, and error handling across workflows.
• Collaborate with engineering, data, and operations teams.
• Maintain runbooks, documentation, and operational procedures.
• Participate in on-call rotations for production support.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in workload automation / job scheduling.
• Hands-on experience with Stonebranch.
• Strong experience with Managed File Transfer (MFT) SFTP, FTPS, AS2, HTTPS.
• Experience supporting production environments.
• Scripting skills (Python, Bash, or PowerShell).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working across Dev / QA / Prod environments.

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools.
• Knowledge of database management systems.
