Senior Python Developer - Remote Mental Health Solutions

What You'll Do

• Develop our first product from the ground up, using Python and Django.
• Collaborate with other developers, the CTO, product owner, and testing team to design and implement our software’s robust, scalable, and secure REST APIs.
• Provide input about what should be implemented, and how – you get a say in how the final product will look like.
• Optimize application performance to support our current and future client base – we’re aiming high.
• Implement security measures that protect our patients’ data from potential threats.
• Work within a small, flexible team that wants to get stuff done and doesn’t care about useless meetings or ceremonies.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of professional experience as a Web Developer, with a strong focus on Python for the backend.
• Considerable experience working with a Python backend framework, such as Django, Flask, FastAPI, etc.
• At least 3 years of experience with SQL databases and ORMs.
• Excellent knowledge of async workers/task queues, such as Celery.
• Hands-on experience with Git.
• Proven track record of improving API performance.
• Knowledge of security best practices.
• Proven experience working with Unix-based operating systems.
• Good command of the English language, with strong communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Previous experience working with Django REST Framework.
• Knowledge of AWS cloud services (EC2, RDS, S3, CloudFront, ElastiCache).
• Knowledge of the OpenAPI standards.
• Experience in implementing security measures for web applications.
• Familiarity with unit testing frameworks in Python.
• Experience with fine-tuning AI models.
• Experience in a startup environment or in the mental health industry would be beneficial.
