Senior Project Manager - Retail Expansion (Remote)

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead our retail expansion efforts in Japan. This Senior Project Manager role offers the opportunity to take full ownership of new store projects and drive them from inception to grand opening, all while working remotely.

What You'll Do

• Manage the end-to-end project lifecycle, including feasibility studies, vendor selection, construction oversight, and final handover.
• Establish and adhere to strict CAPEX budgets and project timelines, ensuring timely openings without cost overruns.
• Act as the central hub for communication between internal departments and external vendors, ensuring alignment and collaboration.
• Ensure all projects comply with global brand standards and local Japanese building codes and safety regulations.
• Provide regular bilingual progress reports to executive leadership, highlighting risks and mitigation strategies.

Requirements

• Minimum 7-10 years of experience in Project Management, particularly in retail expansion or commercial interior fit-outs.
• Fluent in Japanese and English, with strong negotiation skills.
• Proven ability to deliver projects independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong understanding of Japanese construction processes and vendor management.
• Proficiency in project management software such as AutoCAD and MS Project.

Nice to Have

• PMP certification or 1st Class Architect license in Japan.
• Experience in hospitality or luxury retail environments.
• Familiarity with Japanese building codes and safety regulations.
