Senior Network Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are excited to announce an opening for a Senior Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT Network Engineering team at Ferguson. This Senior Network Engineer remote position allows you to work from anywhere in the United States, providing you with the flexibility to balance your professional and personal life. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing and enhancing our network infrastructure that supports approximately 1,400 locations.

What You'll Do

• Design and manage all WAN/LAN, WLAN, VPN, and network infrastructure collaboratively with other engineers and architects.
• Provide high-level engineering support for the organization's network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Proactively troubleshoot and resolve network issues, enhancing the infrastructure's uptime and performance.
• Research and recommend new technologies to meet evolving business needs.
• Document all changes and configurations in the network infrastructure accurately.
• Configure and troubleshoot load balancing platforms, particularly focusing on F5 environments.
• Ensure compliance with IT security and governance processes, including SOX and PCI.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and implementation for network infrastructure.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on Data Center, SDWAN, Cloud, Wireless, and Routing technologies.
• Associate's degree in computer science, information assurance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong technical background in Cisco (Nexus/Catalyst), Meraki, and Palo Alto firewalls.
• Proven analytical expertise and a deep understanding of network protocols.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present to senior leadership.
• Technical certifications such as CCIE, CCNP, or CISSP are preferred.

• Experience with cloud networking solutions.
• Familiarity with network monitoring technologies.
• Knowledge of wireless security practices.
