Senior Mechanical Designer - Data Center HVAC Systems

About the Role

We're hiring a Senior Mechanical Designer to join our Data Center and Mission Critical team. This Senior Mechanical Designer remote position focuses on designing HVAC systems for data centers, emphasizing energy efficiency and sustainability. As part of AECOM, a leading global infrastructure consulting firm, you'll have the opportunity to work on high-profile projects that make a significant impact.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop HVAC systems tailored for data centers.
• Select appropriate cooling systems based on specific requirements.
• Conduct CFD analyses to optimize airflow and cooling.
• Implement redundancy and fault tolerance in HVAC designs.
• Perform heat load calculations and capacity planning.
• Ensure energy efficiency and sustainability in designs.
• Maintain air quality through effective filtration systems.
• Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers.
• Work remotely with occasional travel for client meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree with 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in data center mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Knowledge of data center standards (Uptime Institute, TIA 942).
• Preferred: Master's degree in HVAC or related field.
• Professional certifications in HVAC engineering are advantageous.
• P.E. registration is preferred.
