Senior Infrastructure Security Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Security Engineer to join our team at Paylogic, a leading ticketing and event operations platform in Europe. This remote Senior Infrastructure Security Engineer position offers the opportunity to work on high-value security challenges in a dynamic environment. You will be responsible for securing our custom-built Linux infrastructure and managing the Akamai security stack.

What You'll Do

• Own the Akamai stack: tuning, operationalizing, and extending WAF, BMP, and Account Protector.
• Conduct vulnerability scanning and manage responsible disclosures end-to-end.
• Coordinate penetration tests and infrastructure audits, ensuring compliance with security standards.
• Collaborate with the EVENTIM Germany cybersecurity team to align on group-level security protocols.
• Monitor platform performance, stability, and security, implementing improvements as necessary.
• Lead capacity planning and research solutions to support growth.
• Automate manual processes to enhance efficiency within the team.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of relevant experience in infrastructure engineering, SRE, or security engineering.
• Production experience with Akamai WAF (App and API Protector), Bot Manager Premier, and Account Protector.
• Strong knowledge of web application security, including OWASP Top 10 and WAF policy tuning.
• Proficient in networking concepts relevant to edge security: DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, and DDoS mitigation.
• Hands-on experience with the platform stack: Ubuntu Linux, Python, Percona MySQL, Memcached, Redis, Nginx.
• Experience running vulnerability scans and acting on findings.
• Comfortable working in a small team and taking ownership of projects.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Prolexic for DDoS mitigation.
• Familiarity with scripting and automation using Python or Bash.
• Knowledge of incident response and capacity planning.
