Senior Hardware Engineer - Tolling Solutions

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer for Tolling Solutions to join Blissway, a pioneering startup that simplifies toll collection and enhances highway safety. This Senior Hardware Engineer remote position offers you the chance to work with cutting-edge technology in a dynamic environment. At Blissway, we pride ourselves on our technological lead in the tolling industry, which is larger than many realize. You will be part of a small, agile team dedicated to making a significant impact on the Interstate Highway System.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop hardware solutions that ensure our roadside systems operate with 99.9% reliability.
• Lead the end-to-end design process, including schematics, PCBs, housing, and cabling solutions for next-generation hardware.
• Conduct deep dives into the reliability of power systems and connectivity, ensuring our technology remains unmatched.
• Write code that integrates seamlessly with hardware, understanding the nuances between physical limitations and software requirements.
• Utilize tools such as Altium and Onshape to improve assembly yield and long-term serviceability of devices.

Requirements

• Proven experience in hardware engineering, particularly in embedded systems and IoT.
• Strong coding skills in Python and TypeScript, with familiarity in C/C++.
• Experience with tools such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on reliability and performance.

Nice to Have

• Experience with edge computer vision and outdoor deployment.
• Familiarity with AWS and Linux environments.
• CAD design experience for hardware components.
