Senior Electrical and Instrumentation Designer - Remote Options

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Electrical and Instrumentation Designer to join our dynamic team at Kiewit. This remote position offers you the chance to work on exciting industrial projects while enjoying the flexibility of working from home. As a Senior Electrical and Instrumentation Designer, you will play a crucial role in the design and implementation of electrical systems for various industrial facilities.

What You'll Do

• Coordinate with project teams using the Project Database and various engineering codes.
• Develop schematics and one-line drawings from engineering sketches or mark-ups.
• Design duct banks, embedded conduits, cable trays, grounding, and lighting systems.
• Create 3D models and check for interferences and constructability.
• Perform calculations to ensure compliance with NEC requirements.
• Participate in project meetings and provide insights based on your expertise.
• Ensure designs meet safety, operability, and maintenance standards.
• Complete as-built documentation and maintain project records.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Design/Drafting technology, Engineering, or related field, or 15 years of relevant experience.
• 8+ years of electrical design experience in industrial settings.
• Proficiency in 3D design software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, or Revit.
• Strong understanding of NEC codes as they apply to industrial facilities.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Experience in Water/Wastewater, Data Centers, or Power projects is highly desirable.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Navisworks and AutoCAD MEP.
• Familiarity with electrical quality standards and department procedures.
• Previous experience in a remote work environment.
