Senior Developer Services Specialist - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Developer Services Specialist to join our team remotely. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising, coordinating, and administering developer-funded new water and wastewater system construction programs. As a Senior Developer Services Specialist remote, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our infrastructure meets the needs of our customers and complies with regulatory standards.

What You'll Do

• Review and approve new development requests to determine if the proposed system can be adequately served by our existing infrastructure.
• Interface with developers, engineers, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with American Water processes and standards.
• Administer cost estimation, funding, and refund processes for developer-installed and company-installed water and wastewater construction programs.
• Coordinate with key stakeholders, including operations, finance, and customer teams, to ensure efficient project execution.
• Ensure proper inspection during construction and that as-built information is accurately recorded.
• Oversee the turnover process to the local operations team.
• Implement coaching and development initiatives for employees within your functional area.
• Support management in developing and implementing effective people management policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 10+ years without a degree in utility or land development or construction.
• Knowledge of engineering principles related to water and wastewater system design and operations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including report writing and presentation.
• Ability to work independently on complex projects and possess strong quantitative and analytical skills.
• Experience in the water/wastewater field is preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License.
