About the Role

We’re hiring a Senior Data Science Manager to join our Business Banking team at Monzo. This role offers the opportunity to work remotely while leading a talented team focused on transforming the banking experience for small businesses. As a Senior Data Science Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping product direction using data, enabling Monzo to make better decisions faster.

What You'll Do

• Lead a high-performing team of data scientists and analytics engineers, ensuring they have the support and resources needed to excel.
• Drive product innovation by leveraging data to inform product strategy and prioritization.
• Champion the use of data in decision-making processes, utilizing A/B testing and rigorous experimentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product directors, engineering managers, and designers, in an agile environment.
• Shape the evolution from analytics to AI and ML-enabled product capabilities, ensuring responsible evaluation and launch of features.

Requirements

• Multiple years of experience in product data science, including 3+ years in senior or lead roles.
• Experience managing high-performing teams of 8-10 people.
• Strong commercial judgment and ability to influence product strategy with data.
• Hands-on experience with machine learning in a product environment.
• Proficiency in data science tools and coding languages, particularly Python and SQL.

Nice to Have

• Experience working with C-level peers and senior business stakeholders.
• Familiarity with self-serve analytics tools like Looker.
• Empathetic leadership style with a focus on team development.

• Competitive salary range of £126,000 to £160,000, commensurate with experience.
