About the Role

Techmunity is exclusively hiring a Senior Data Engineer to join a fast-growing startup in the hospitality tech space. This remote Senior Data Engineer position offers the opportunity to work on an AI-driven platform that powers back-of-house operations for coffee shops and quick-service restaurants, including well-known brands like Blank Street and Pret-a-Manger.

What You'll Do

  • Own the data warehouse and core models, defining how the business uses data.
  • Build and maintain reliable ELT pipelines in Python and SQL as the product evolves.
  • Design clean, well-structured tables for reporting, product analytics, and AI use cases.
  • Implement testing, monitoring, and data quality checks to ensure teams trust the numbers.
  • Collaborate closely with the Senior AI Engineer to supply datasets for forecasting and future workflows.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Senior Data Engineer who has owned a production data stack end to end.
  • Strong SQL and data modeling experience, including dimensional modeling, star schema, and Kimball methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Python, dbt, and orchestrators such as Airflow or Dagster.
  • Enjoy shaping long-term architecture and writing the code to support it.
  • Comfortable working closely with product and engineering in a fast-moving startup environment.

  • Experience in the hospitality tech industry.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven applications.
  • Knowledge of data governance best practices.
