Senior Content Designer - Narrative-Driven Gameplay

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Content Designer to join our team at Skydance Games. In this Senior Content Designer remote position, you will play a crucial role in crafting immersive gameplay experiences that resonate with players. You will work closely with our talented team to translate narrative direction into engaging gameplay, ensuring that every project reflects our core values of creativity, collaboration, and trust.

What You'll Do

• Implement narrative content, including dialogue systems and environmental storytelling, directly in the game engine.
• Translate narrative direction into fully playable content that aligns with gameplay systems and pacing goals.
• Apply core game design principles to ensure narrative features enhance player motivation and overall experience.
• Collaborate with the Design Director and Narrative Director to ensure cohesive narrative implementation.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams, including designers, writers, and engineers, to integrate narrative elements across gameplay spaces.
• Own content implementation from initial setup through iteration, polish, debugging, and optimization.
• Identify and resolve challenges in narrative design that impact player experience.
• Maintain clear documentation to support collaboration and long-term maintainability.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional game development experience with at least two shipped titles.
• Strong understanding of core game design principles, including player motivation and gameplay pacing.
• Experience implementing interactive storytelling systems, such as branching dialogue and quests.
• Ability to integrate narrative content within broader gameplay systems.
• Hands-on experience with game engines and visual scripting.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in debugging gameplay logic.

Nice to Have

• In-depth experience with Unreal Engine, particularly Blueprint scripting.
