Senior Software Engineer - Observability and Reliability

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Observability and Reliability to join our growing engineering team. In this remote role, you will collaborate with a talented group of engineers dedicated to building world-class technology that makes data easily accessible. You will be instrumental in developing observability tools and platforms, ensuring the reliability and performance of our systems.

What You'll Do

  • Build observability tools and platforms, including metrics, logging, distributed tracing, dashboarding, alerting, and application performance management.
  • Utilize modern tools and languages such as Go, OpenTelemetry, and Kubernetes to enhance our systems.
  • Participate in on-call rotation to maintain service uptime and reliability.
  • Create runtime tools and processes that optimize cloud triaging and minimize downtime.
  • Define best practices for making our systems and services measurable and reliable.
  • Collaborate with peers and stakeholders through design and code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Spend the majority of your time coding and developing high-quality software.

Requirements

  • Strong Computer Science fundamentals.
  • 5+ years of industry experience in building and maintaining high-quality software.
  • Experience applying a product mindset to infrastructure systems.
  • Desire to be a great teammate and contribute positively to the work environment.
  • Strong sense of craftsmanship and a healthy academic curiosity.

Nice to Have

  • Experience building systems for data analytics.
  • Skills in distributed systems monitoring and profiling.
  • Knowledge of cloud application security models.
  • Experience administering cloud service infrastructure (GCP, AWS, Azure).
  • Startup experience is a plus.
