Senior Cloud Architect - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Architect to join our dynamic team at Scalable Capital. This Senior Cloud Architect remote position offers the opportunity to shape the future of our cloud infrastructure and services, allowing application teams to focus on business logic rather than framework configurations. You will play a crucial role in architecting and pioneering the future of microservices at Scalable, emphasizing performance, security, and cost-efficiency.

What You'll Do

• Lead the design and development of "Service in a day" application templates using Spring Boot, Node.js, and Python Lambdas, setting the standard for speed and integration across the company.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and understand application requirements for our platform.
• Drive critical technology migrations, such as Spring Boot upgrades, centralizing best practices and enabling over 40 application teams.
• Research and develop service and storage improvements using serverless technologies, optimizing scalability, cost, and performance.
• Be the central expert for vulnerability analysis of key frameworks, identifying false positives and creating reusable security solution patterns.
• Mentor and enable our software development teams to foster our DevOps culture by providing reusable and unified building blocks.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, tools, and techniques related to application frameworks and best practices.
• Take ownership of central services like GraphQL Hive, Envoy, and AWS services.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in Kotlin/Java (Spring Boot).
• Experience with AWS and infrastructure as code (preferably Terraform).
• Solid understanding of scalable system design principles, distributed systems, and cloud technologies.
• A passion for automating and improving processes while collaborating with other developer teams.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to visualize complex systems.
• A degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
• Full professional proficiency in English.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AI coding tools to accelerate developer workflows.
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with messaging solutions like SNS, SQS, and Kafka.
