What You'll Do

• Design and maintain core backend services using Python 3.12 and FastAPI, ensuring high performance and reliability.
• Develop RESTful APIs and implement robust data modeling with Pydantic, managing persistence layers through Google Cloud Datastore.
• Build and maintain asynchronous, event-driven systems on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using Cloud Run, Cloud Tasks, and Pub/Sub.
• Optimize batch processing and aggregation pipelines to enhance query performance and scalability for large audit datasets.
• Manage CI/CD processes, improving GCP Cloud Build pipelines and overseeing Docker-based containerization workflows.
• Integrate AI-powered components using Gemini via Vertex AI within backend services.
• Coordinate deployments and release cycles across multiple environments, ensuring operational readiness and stability.
• Maintain a mature Test-Driven Development (TDD) workflow, backed by extensive unit tests to ensure regression safety and confidence in refactoring.

Requirements

• Strong experience with Python, preferably with asyncio.
• Production experience with FastAPI or similar frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience designing distributed or event-driven systems.
• Comfortable owning features end-to-end, from design to deployment.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with AI integration and machine learning concepts.
• Experience with performance tuning and optimization of backend systems.
• Knowledge of container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
