Staff Build Engineer - Remote

About the Role

We are seeking a Staff Build Engineer - Remote to join our innovative team at RapidFort. This position is crucial for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our software delivery processes. As a Staff Build Engineer, you will own build pipelines and hardened container images, focusing on automation solutions that help enterprises and U.S. government agencies mitigate software supply chain risks while accelerating the deployment of secure workloads.

What You'll Do

• Own and execute daily builds while maintaining an up-to-date catalog of container images.
• Continuously improve the build environment, including Docker builds and automation.
• Triage and debug build failures and container issues.
• Write automation and internal tooling in Python and Bash.
• Drive CI/CD stability and performance.
• Scale build infrastructure to meet increasing demands.
• Document workflows and operational processes.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance build workflows.
• Ensure build reliability and improve performance at scale.
• Provide senior technical guidance on build systems and container tooling.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Build Engineering, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Deep expertise in Linux and command-line fluency.
• Strong scripting experience in Python and Bash.
• Advanced knowledge of Docker and container build systems.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines in production.
• Hands-on experience with Jenkins pipelines.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes.
• Experience with AWS or Azure cloud environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with container orchestration tools.
• Knowledge of security best practices in software development.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools.
