Senior Backend Engineer - AI-Powered 3D Content Creation

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team and play a crucial role in developing our AI-powered 3D content creation platform. This Senior Backend Engineer remote position is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology that democratizes the creation of high-quality 3D assets.

What You'll Do

• Define, build, and maintain backend application services for our web SaaS platform, enabling new 3D-PBR asset creation workflows.
• Collaborate with frontend developers to design and implement high-performance APIs that deliver exceptional user experiences.
• Integrate with ML infrastructure to orchestrate model workflows, manage job queues, and deliver results to users.
• Design and implement user-facing APIs to support frontend user flows using FastAPI.
• Build robust user authentication, authorization, and account management systems using Auth0.
• Integrate payment processing and subscription management using Stripe.
• Design and manage user databases and data models with MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
• Implement asset storage, retrieval, and management systems using AWS S3.
• Build job queue management for asynchronous ML workflows using SNS and SQS.
• Setup application monitoring and logging with CloudWatch, Grafana, and Prometheus.
• Implement CI/CD for application deployment using Bitbucket Pipelines.
• Create API documentation and developer tools.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend development experience with production applications.
• Proven experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs at scale.
• Strong experience with Python and modern web frameworks.
• Comfortable working in TypeScript for frontend integration debugging.
• Experience in building infrastructure for image, video, or 3D graphics-intensive web applications.

Nice to Have

• Experience working with researchers, product engineering, and product managers to bring new AI capabilities to market.
• A passion for games and films, with an understanding of photogrammetry, scanning, graphics, rendering, and AAA 3D asset creation.
