Security Specialist - Remote Opportunities Available

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Security Specialist to join our team at Los Alamos National Laboratory. This Security Specialist remote position is crucial for conducting structured technical security analyses to protect national security assets, personnel, the public, and the environment from vulnerabilities. You will utilize risk assessment frameworks and vulnerability analysis methodologies to ensure compliance and safety.

What You'll Do

• Conduct in-depth analyses including threat characterization and target determination.
• Develop solutions to complex security problems through structured security risk assessments.
• Identify, categorize, and prioritize security threats while developing structured mitigation plans.
• Participate in site inspections to document security vulnerabilities.
• Offer recommendations for security solutions and implement corrective actions under the guidance of senior security specialists.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree with 2 years of experience in security risk analysis or a related field.
• Familiarity with DOE and LANL security requirements and policies.
• Experience in preparing and presenting written reports to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
• Active DOE Clearance is a plus.

Nice to Have

• Experience leading analytical projects with minimal oversight.
• Understanding of qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques.
