Salesforce QA Engineer - Remote Role

About the Role
We are excited to announce an opening for a Salesforce QA Engineer remote position at Application House. As a Salesforce QA Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our Salesforce solutions. This is a part-time, permanent position that offers fully flexible working hours, allowing you to work anytime that suits you.
What You'll Do
- Review business and technical requirements to design comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing on Salesforce applications.
- Execute manual and automated test cases across multiple Salesforce environments.
- Document defects clearly and track them through resolution using tools like Jira or Azure DevOps.
- Perform manual exploratory testing to identify edge cases and usability issues.
- Execute UAT support and business validation testing.
- Validate data accuracy using SOQL queries and Salesforce reports.
- Test user permissions, roles, and sharing rules.
- Perform integration testing with external systems (QuickBooks, Stripe, Twilio APIs, etc.).
- Test AppExchange package installation, upgrades, and uninstall scenarios.
- Validate mobile responsiveness and Salesforce Mobile App behavior.
- Learn automated UI tests using UTAM, Selenium, and other supported Salesforce automation frameworks.
- Develop and maintain end-to-end regression suites for Salesforce managed packages (Lightning Web Components, Apex Controllers, Triggers, Flows).
- Build data-driven test scripts for multiple Salesforce org environments (sandbox, UAT, production).
- Integrate test execution within CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions / Bitbucket / Jenkins).
- Collaborate with developers to identify automation candidates during sprint planning.
- Maintain automation codebase, modular test models, and reusable components.
- Log, track, and verify defects in Jira, working with developers for resolution.
- Support cross-browser and device testing (Chrome, Edge, Firefox).
- Ensure positive/negative test coverage for Lightning Record Pages and Salesforce UI.
- Prepare test documentation: automation scripts, test data setup, test reports, and coverage metrics.
- Contribute to manual-to-automation transition, reducing regression testing effort.
- Stay current with Salesforce test automation tools, particularly UTAM, Provar, and Salesforce Testing Frameworks.
Requirements
- 2–3 years of experience in software testing, including Salesforce testing.
- 2+ years of experience as a QA Tester with a focus on Salesforce platform (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, etc.).
- Experience writing clear and structured manual test cases.
- Understanding of test case design techniques (boundary value, equivalence partitioning, etc.).
- Experience performing regression and exploratory testing.
- Basic knowledge of API testing (Postman or similar tools).
- Strong knowledge of Salesforce features, workflows, validation rules, and security model.
- Experience with test management tools.
- Solid understanding of software testing lifecycle and QA methodologies.
Nice to Have
- Hands-on with UTAM, Selenium, WebDriverIO, or Provar.
- Good understanding of Salesforce data model, custom objects, triggers, flows, and Lightning pages.
- Understanding or willingness to learn JavaScript or Java for automation scripting.
- Familiarity with CI/CD and version control tools (Git, Jenkins, Bitbucket).
- Proficient in using Test Management tools (Jira, TestRail).
- Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in Agile/Scrum environments.
