About the Role

Wizcorp is seeking a Remote Software Engineer to join our dynamic team in Japan. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in the game development industry, where your skills in C++ and C# will be put to the test. As a Remote Software Engineer, you will collaborate with a cross-cultural team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of game development.

What You'll Do

  • Complete assigned engineering tasks in a timely manner as a Remote Software Engineer.
  • Design, test, and debug your own code without assistance from other engineers.
  • Engage in discussions with game designers and artists to integrate features effectively.
  • Write clear, maintainable code that passes review by senior engineers.
  • Follow software engineering best practices throughout the full software development life cycle.
  • Take ownership of medium-sized features by breaking them into manageable tasks.
  • Coordinate with members outside of the engineering team to deliver features on time.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional software engineering experience for Japan-based candidates, or 7+ years for overseas candidates.
  • Proficiency in C++ and C#, with experience in Go being a plus.
  • Experience with Git or other version control systems.
  • Strong debugging skills and excellent written and verbal communication.
  • At least conversational proficiency in Japanese (JLPT N3 or above) and English.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with game engines such as Unity or Unreal.
  • Understanding of 2D and 3D math.
  • Willingness to work as part of a team and contribute to technical discussions.
