About the Role
We are excited to announce an opening for a Remote Senior Analytics Engineer at Alpaca. In this role, you will be pivotal in shaping our data transformation layer, working with a dynamic team that processes hundreds of millions of events daily. As a Remote Senior Analytics Engineer, you will leverage your expertise in dbt and SQL to build robust data models that support various business needs.
What You'll Do
- Own the Transformation Layer: Design, build, and maintain scalable data models using dbt and SQL to support diverse business needs, from monthly financial reporting to near-real-time operational metrics.
- Set Technical Standards: Establish and enforce best practices for data modeling, development, testing, and monitoring to ensure data quality and reliability.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers and Data Scientists to optimize data flows and enhance data accessibility.
- Deliver insights through BI tools, reports, and reverse ETL systems to stakeholders across the company.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of our data platform.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as an Analytics Engineer or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in dbt, SQL, and data modeling techniques.
- Experience with GCP and open-source data infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
- Ability to communicate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- Experience with BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
- Familiarity with Python or R for data analysis.
- Knowledge of financial services or trading platforms.
