About the Role
We're hiring a Remote Security Infrastructure Engineer to join Tailscale's innovative team. In this role, you will help build a secure and interconnected internet for users worldwide. As a Remote Security Infrastructure Engineer, you'll work on designing and implementing security controls across various layers, ensuring our systems are safe and reliable.
What You'll Do
- Design and build security controls across diverse layers including cloud platforms, Kubernetes, and networks.
- Identify and implement security and privacy features to enhance Tailscale's overall security posture.
- Audit infrastructure for technical security weaknesses and drive resolutions.
- Support engineering decisions with threat modeling and security analysis.
- Spend 25-50% of your time writing software, alongside operational security responsibilities.
Requirements
- Technical expertise in securing cloud platforms, especially multi-cloud networks.
- Familiarity with container security and orchestration.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably Go.
- Prior experience in infrastructure security or safety-related technical roles.
- Knowledge of operating system internals and common networking protocols.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tooling like Terraform or Ansible.
- Familiarity with internet/web security fundamentals such as WAFs and TLS.
