About the Role

We are seeking a talented Remote Data Scientist to join our dynamic team at Vox Media. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling to drive insights and support data-driven decision-making across our organization. As a Remote Data Scientist, you will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to enhance our analytics capabilities and contribute to the overall success of our projects.

What You'll Do

• Utilize statistical analysis and predictive modeling techniques to extract actionable insights from complex datasets.
• Develop and implement machine learning algorithms to improve data-driven strategies and enhance user engagement.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to design experiments and analyze results for continuous improvement.
• Work with cloud-based data warehouses, particularly BigQuery, to manage and analyze large data sets efficiently.
• Contribute to the development of data pipelines and data engineering processes to ensure data integrity and accessibility.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a Remote Data Scientist or in a similar analytical role.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation and analysis.
• Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries, such as TensorFlow or Scikit-learn.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to present findings effectively.
• Excellent communication skills to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Experience in the media or journalism industry.
• Knowledge of SEO and social media analytics.
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud tools for data visualization.
