Product Owner - Remote Opportunity in FinTech

About the Role

Paymenttools is seeking a talented Product Owner to join our team in a remote capacity. As a Product Owner, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of payment solutions for retailers across Europe. This is a unique opportunity to work on a product that aims to transform the payment landscape, making transactions seamless and secure.

What You'll Do

• Own and shape the vision, strategy, and roadmap for your domain as a Product Owner.
• Translate business requirements into well-defined product outcomes and user stories.
• Collaborate with architects and engineers to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with our technical strategy.
• Prioritize and manage a transparent product backlog with a focus on impact and feasibility.
• Communicate product decisions clearly to stakeholders at all levels - from leadership to developers to merchants.
• Advocate for excellent user experience by working closely with UX/UI designers to ensure the product is intuitive and accessible.
• Incorporate user research, usability testing, and feedback loops into the product development process to validate and iterate on design decisions.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in a B2B or fintech environment (preferred but not required).
• Ability to navigate both strategic and hands-on product work with confidence.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, especially in cross-functional setups.
• A structured, data-driven approach to problem solving and decision making.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and working closely with development teams.
• A strong appreciation for UX/UI principles and a track record of working closely with designers to build user-centric products.
• Ability to read and challenge wireframes, prototypes, and user flows with a product mindset.
• Experience with design thinking, user journey mapping, or similar frameworks is a plus.

Nice to Have

• Experience in the payment industry or with loyalty programs.
• Familiarity with tools such as Google Workspace, Slack, Asana, Jira, and Confluence.
