About the Role

We are seeking a Principal Product Designer to join our team at Ethos. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of life insurance technology. As a Principal Product Designer, you will lead design strategies across multiple business units, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and user experience.

What You'll Do

• Lead design strategy across various business units to enhance user experience.
• Set the vision for our overall user experience and build new products while iterating on existing ones.
• Manage executive stakeholders across engineering, product, marketing, and more.
• Drive improvements to the product development process with cross-functional partners.
• Mentor and lead the work of other designers, fostering a culture of creativity and innovation.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of Product Design experience, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
• A minimum of 2 years at a venture-funded, private startup.
• Experience influencing the work of others through direct management or indirect leadership.
• Proven ability to work in a high-velocity, experiment-driven environment.
• Excellent communication skills to articulate design decisions clearly.

Nice to Have

• Experience launching 0-1 products, demonstrating your ability to innovate.
• A track record of raising the bar for design practices in your previous roles.
