Part-Time Church Musician (B or C) - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Church Musician (B or C) to join our community at St. Peter and Paul in Oberammergau. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage with a vibrant parish and contribute to the musical organization of liturgical celebrations. As a Church Musician, you will play a crucial role in leading the church choir and enhancing the worship experience through music.

What You'll Do

• Establish a cantor service for Sunday liturgies.
• Coordinate various music and singing groups to create diverse and engaging worship services.
• Lead and develop our church choir, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Independently and creatively design church services and events in consultation with church leaders.
• Demonstrate musical versatility, initiative, and creativity in your work.
• Enjoy working musically with people of all ages.

Requirements

• A completed degree in Catholic Church Music (ideally B-Exam, Bachelor) or a comparable qualification.
• Experience in church music and choir leadership is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for community engagement.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative in musical arrangements.
• Flexibility to adapt to various musical styles and congregational needs.

Nice to Have

• Experience in vocal training and music education.
• Familiarity with liturgical music traditions.
• Additional qualifications in music theory or composition.
