Principal or Senior Principal Data Scientist - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Principal or Senior Principal Data Scientist to join our innovative team at Northrop Grumman. This role offers a unique opportunity to work remotely while tackling complex data challenges and contributing to groundbreaking projects that impact lives globally.

What You'll Do

• Architect and develop custom, maintainable data science solutions from the ground up.
• Collaborate with software engineers, analysts, and other data scientists to understand data requirements and deliver robust, integrated solutions.
• Create high-performance statistics and machine learning tools, making sense of complex data sets.
• Champion software engineering best practices, including comprehensive unit/integration testing and CI/CD automation.
• Tune and optimize complex algorithms within our on-premise infrastructure.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience.
• Deep understanding of Machine Learning and Deep Learning.
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (e.g., Git, Docker).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a government Top Secret clearance.

Nice to Have

• Master’s degree or higher in Data Science or related discipline.
• Experience with C/C++, machine learning pipelines, and data science workflows.
• Familiarity with SQL Alchemy, Numpy, Pandas, SKLearn, PyTorch.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
