Platform Engineer - AI Infrastructure (Remote)

About the Role

We're hiring a Platform Engineer to join our innovative team at PermitFlow. This Platform Engineer remote position offers you the opportunity to build and scale the AI infrastructure that is redefining the construction industry in the United States. As a key player in our infrastructure team, you will help architect and maintain the systems that ensure our services run smoothly, contributing to a $1.6 trillion industry that is undergoing significant transformation.

What You'll Do

• Architect, design, and implement secure, scalable, and cost-efficient infrastructure solutions to support a rapidly growing product.
• Design and implement backend and frontend services, APIs, and data pipelines to support AI-driven workflows.
• Own features end-to-end, from architecture and implementation to testing and production deployment.
• Develop and maintain automation through Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitor, optimize, and scale our cloud infrastructure for performance and reliability.
• Establish and enforce best practices for observability, logging, and alerting.
• Lead and participate in incident response, troubleshooting complex issues and driving postmortem learning and improvements.
• Collaborate across engineering teams to improve developer velocity while balancing reliability, security, and cost.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Platform, Site Reliability, Infrastructure, or similar roles.
• Strong experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, ECS, Kubernetes a plus).
• Expertise with CI/CD pipelines and modern infrastructure automation tools.
• Coding and scripting proficiency (Python, Go, Bash, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred) and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with monitoring, observability, and incident management best practices.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment, where adaptability and ownership are essential.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AI-driven applications and workflows.
• Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements in the construction industry.
