Platform Architect - Remote Healthcare Interoperability

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Platform Architect to join our team at Redox. This remote position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of healthcare interoperability. As a Platform Architect, you will provide the technical vision and strategy for our core infrastructure, ensuring it supports the seamless exchange of healthcare data across a network of over 12,000 systems.

What You'll Do

• Define and maintain the long-term technical roadmap for the Redox Engine, ensuring scalability and high availability.
• Lead hands-on technical initiatives to modernize our architecture, simplifying complex systems and reducing maintenance overhead.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineering Leads to develop technical plans that balance innovation with feasibility.
• Drive improvements in CI/CD processes and developer workflows to enhance overall engineering velocity.
• Mentor Senior and Staff engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and psychological safety.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3-5 years in an Architecture or Lead role.
• Expertise in Cloud-Native Architecture, particularly with AWS services such as EKS, RDS, and Kafka.
• Proven track record in designing systems that process high volumes of real-time data.
• Strong proficiency in modern backend environments, especially Node.js and TypeScript.
• Excellent communication skills to translate complex technical concepts into business impact.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with healthcare data standards such as HL7v2, FHIR, or DICOM.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Knowledge of AI/ML integration patterns for data transformation.
