Network Engineering Lead - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Network Engineering Lead to join our team at Bechtel Corporation. This remote position offers a unique opportunity to lead field communications services for the AP1000 nuclear project in Poland. You will provide technical leadership and ensure that communications systems are deployed and operated effectively, aligning with project requirements and regulatory standards.

What You'll Do

• Lead and coordinate Field Infrastructure specialists, providing daily work direction and technical guidance.
• Provide technical leadership for field communications services, including LAN/WAN, voice, wireless, and site connectivity systems.
• Monitor communications performance, availability, and compliance, and coordinate corrective actions as needed.
• Support the development and implementation of communications designs by contributing field input and validating execution approaches.
• Deploy, configure, and support communications infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and collaboration platforms.
• Coordinate with Helpdesk and local support teams to resolve complex communications issues.
• Support implementation of communications security controls in alignment with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
• Travel intermittently to other project locations in Poland as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience, or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise communications and networking, including LAN/WAN, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and wireless systems.
• Hands-on experience deploying and supporting routers, switches, firewalls, and voice platforms.
• Experience supporting hybrid and cloud connectivity (Azure, AWS, SD WAN).
• Strong troubleshooting, incident response, and root cause analysis skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills appropriate for nuclear project execution environments.
• Preferred Certifications: CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent.

Nice to Have

• Working knowledge of private LTE/5G (PCN) and integration with enterprise networks.
• Familiarity with ITIL / ITSM processes and structured incident management workflows.
