About the Role
We are seeking a Network Administrator to join Northrop Grumman, a leader in defense technology. What You'll Do
- Maintain smooth operation of LAN/WAN/VPNs, ensuring all communication requirements are configured for optimal performance.
- Plan, design, configure, and install network hardware to meet customer requirements.
- Provide technical expertise in all areas of networks and computer hardware/software interconnection, including routers, multiplexers, firewalls, switches, and gateways.
- Propose solutions to management for network improvements and optimizations.
- Create and maintain appropriate network documentation, including operational instructions.
- Monitor network performance and conduct analysis for short and long-range planning.
- Coordinate third-party maintenance for network equipment as needed.
- Design networks or portions of networks, selecting appropriate hardware and software packages.
Requirements
- Master's Degree with 0 years of relevant experience; OR a Bachelor's Degree with 2 years of relevant experience; OR an Associate's Degree with 4 years of relevant experience; OR a High School diploma with 6 years of relevant experience.
- Must have a Security+ CE certification (or higher).
- Current DOD Top Secret level security clearance is required.
- Experience with designing and maintaining LAN/WAN based networks and managing routing protocols in large LAN environments.
- Experience with Cisco hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) is essential.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Network Engineering or IS related field.
- Active TS/SCI, Polygraph, or SAP/SAR access.
- Network+ certificate and/or Cisco CCNA, CCNP certifications.
- Experience with network analysis tools (e.g., WireShark, SolarWinds).
- Previous experience troubleshooting network procedures and best practices.
