Mission Architect - Space Security (Remote)

About the Role

We are seeking a Mission Architect - Space Security to join Northrop Grumman in a remote capacity. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on revolutionary systems that impact lives globally. As a Mission Architect, you will be the subject matter expert for space security missions, focusing on ground design and integration. This position offers a unique chance to lead technical efforts and engage with customers and stakeholders in a dynamic environment.

What You'll Do

• Interface and drive engagement with customers and stakeholders for mission ground systems.
• Promulgate a clear vision of common grounds for disparate missions at multiple security levels.
• Mentor mission architects and systems engineers in ground design and mission-specific software.
• Direct developmental and analytical efforts to reduce risk and ensure mission success.
• Support the family of programs with system architecture establishment and CONOPs development.
• Communicate technical concepts to non-experts effectively.
• Perform system-of-system trades, modeling, and simulation to assess mission architecture alternatives.
• Lead technical meetings for senior leaders across the space community.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related STEM field with 12+ years of experience.
• Active U.S. Government DoD Top-Secret security clearance required.
• Understanding of Systems Engineering principles and practices.
• Experience with developing and presenting briefing slides to senior leaders.
• Knowledge of cyber security frameworks for national security systems.

Nice to Have

• Experience in mission design, satellite ground software, and distributed modeling.
• Prior aerospace-related work experience for a U.S Government Agency or Contractor.
• Previous experience with flight hardware on operational systems.
