Mid-Senior Electrical Design Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Mid-Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team at Sargent & Lundy. This remote position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively in a project team environment, focusing on the design, modification, and upgrade of power plant electrical systems. As a key member of our team, you will have the chance to contribute to significant projects while enjoying the flexibility of remote work.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with multi-disciplined engineering and design project teams to develop single-line diagrams, relay and metering diagrams, and AC and DC schematic diagrams.
• Produce wiring diagrams and point-to-point wiring diagrams, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
• Review and incorporate vendor drawings into the overall project design, providing support to other designers and project team members.
• Assist in field walkdowns and data gathering at client facilities to ensure comprehensive project execution.
• Utilize extensive AutoCAD and/or Microstation design experience on power plants or large facility projects.

Requirements

• An Associate's Degree in drafting or a high school diploma with equivalent technical design experience.
• 10+ years of detailed wiring design experience, particularly in developing single-line and relay and metering diagrams.
• Familiarity with digital control systems and the ability to conceptualize plans and details for wiring termination requirements.
• Strong communication skills to interface effectively with engineering and design teams across disciplines.
• Must be fully bilingual in Spanish and English (speak, read, and write).

Nice to Have

• Experience with medium-voltage and 480V systems.
• Knowledge of drafting and design practices and theories.
• Ability to assist engineers with initial design requirements.
