About the Role
We are seeking a talented Mid-Senior DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team at Peek. As a remote DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing deployment reliability, reducing operational risks, and modernizing our AWS infrastructure towards Kubernetes. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about cloud technologies.
What You'll Do
- Improve deployment processes and operational reliability across our AWS infrastructure.
- Work with a small, dedicated DevOps team to support the entire Engineering organization.
- Implement Infrastructure-as-Code practices using tools like Terraform or Pulumi.
- Manage and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Develop robust monitoring solutions using tools such as Nagios, New Relic, and integrate them with PagerDuty.
- Collaborate with developers to automate CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and other tools.
- Ensure security and compliance best practices are integrated throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Participate in on-call rotations and be available for infrastructure upgrades outside normal business hours.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or Platform Engineer.
- Proficiency with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Route53, IAM, and VPC.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and troubleshooting EKS clusters.
- Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, Ruby, or Go.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Pulumi.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts including DNS, load balancing, and VPNs.
- Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI.
- Familiarity with data warehousing solutions such as BigQuery or Redshift is a plus.
Nice to Have
- Experience with other cloud providers like GCP or Azure.
- Knowledge of SQL-based databases and NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
- Experience with caching systems such as Redis and CDN solutions.
- Familiarity with serverless platforms like AWS Lambda.
