About the Role
Marathon TS is seeking a Mid-Level DevSecOps Engineer to support a high-visibility Navy AI/ML initiative focused on predictive analytics and operational readiness. This remote position will allow you to work from anywhere while contributing to the development, deployment, and security of cloud-based applications by integrating security best practices throughout the CI/CD pipeline.
What You'll Do
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines with integrated security controls.
- Embed security automation throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Support cloud infrastructure deployments on AWS and/or Azure.
- Implement containerization and orchestration solutions using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Perform vulnerability scanning, remediation, and compliance validation.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure secure coding practices.
- Support infrastructure-as-code (IaC) initiatives.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security posture.
- Assist with documentation and compliance artifacts as required.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps / DevSecOps or related engineering role.
- Experience in secure environments, particularly within compliance-driven environments (DoD preferred).
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure).
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM).
- Proficient in scripting languages (Python, Bash, or similar).
- Experience with security scanning tools (SAST, DAST, container scanning).
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

- AWS or Azure certification.
- Security+ or equivalent security certification.
- Kubernetes or DevOps-related certifications.

Who Will Succeed Here
Proficient in automating CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and GitLab CI, with hands-on experience in integrating security assessments into these workflows.
Strong familiarity with container orchestration using Kubernetes and Docker, allowing for efficient deployment and scaling of applications in cloud environments.
