Mid-Level Designer - Remote Opportunity at Darkroom

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Mid-Level Designer to join our dynamic team at Darkroom. This Mid-Level Designer remote position offers a unique opportunity to shape how we communicate visually across various platforms. You will be responsible for creating bold and strategic design assets that effectively translate complex ideas into compelling visual narratives.

What You'll Do

• Create high-quality visual assets for organic social media, paid media, internal and external presentations, and thought leadership content.
• Develop end-to-end design concepts that bring marketing narratives to life across social media and presentation decks.
• Translate positioning, insights, and strategy into strong visual systems that feel cohesive across channels.
• Partner with marketing and strategy teams to shape creative direction for campaigns and content series.
• Maintain consistency across all brand expressions while evolving the visual language as the company grows.
• Contribute to and refine our Figma-based brand system to ensure scalability and clarity across outputs.
• Own projects from concept through execution, including layout, typography, image selection, and final delivery.

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of experience in brand, marketing, or visual design within a fast-paced creative team or agency.
• A strong portfolio that demonstrates concept-driven design across social media, brand campaigns, and presentation work.
• Ability to think in systems and narratives, not isolated assets.
• Fluency in Figma and comfort in building scalable components and organized design files.
• Strong typography and layout instincts, with an understanding of how to balance clarity with visual impact.
• Ability to take a strategic brief and translate it into a distinct creative direction.
• Organized, accountable, and comfortable managing multiple workstreams.
• Excellent communication skills to convey your design thinking clearly and collaborate effectively with marketers, strategists, and leadership.

Nice to Have

• Experience with motion graphics or animation.
• Familiarity with HTML/CSS for web design.
• Knowledge of brand strategy and marketing principles.
