Mid-Level Application Security Engineer - Remote

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Mid-Level Application Security Engineer to join our team at LivePerson. As an Application Security Engineer II, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security of our applications and environments. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about cybersecurity and looking to work remotely with a dynamic team.

What You'll Do

• Manage and enhance application security tools, including Static Code Analysis and Dynamic Application Security tools.
• Develop in-house application security automation tools to streamline processes.
• Validate discovered vulnerabilities using code review skills and manual/semi-automatic tooling like Burp.
• Perform security penetration tests for both web and mobile applications.
• Collaborate with engineering and security teams to provide actionable reporting and suggest mitigations for security issues.
• Stay updated on the latest testing tools and techniques, ensuring the team uses the most effective methods.
• Produce detailed reports and metrics to support data-driven decisions.
• Assist in creating and updating Application Security procedures, policies, standards, and guidelines.
• Train, coach, and mentor other team members and broader LivePerson Security and Engineering teams.

Requirements

• Understanding of software security architecture and design.
• Broad experience in information security and AppSec testing techniques.
• Practical experience in an application security role with manual testing.
• Solid understanding of cloud environments, especially GCP, and web protocols.
• Good working knowledge of current IT risks and experience in testing, exploitation, and mitigation techniques.
• Experience with Shell, Java, Python, or Node.js.
• Strong interest in penetration testing, including cloud-deployed applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
