Manager, Remote Operations Center - Renewable Energy

About the Role

We are seeking a Manager, Remote Operations Center to oversee the real-time operations of renewable energy assets. This remote position offers a unique opportunity to lead a team dedicated to monitoring and controlling approximately 10 GW of utility-scale renewable energy plants, including wind, solar, and energy storage. As a key player in our operations, you will report directly to the Director of the Renewable Control Center and ensure that all processes and procedures are implemented consistently.

What You'll Be Doing

• Provide direction and supervision to the on-shift Operations team in day-to-day job activities and responsibilities.
• Oversee and drive continuous improvement efforts to reduce and eliminate operational issues.
• Assist in proactively monitoring real-time activity, performance, and operational status of all wind and solar assets.
• Help operators understand and identify abnormal operations or alarm conditions that arise during shifts and troubleshoot in a timely manner.
• Perform periodic operator log reviews for accuracy and compliance.
• Support commissioning activities of new projects and assist in developing onboarding processes for operations personnel.
• Implement processes to ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
• Report to senior management on operational incidents and work closely with Energy Management to execute internal processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Renewable Control Center Operations.
• Previous Control Center/Dispatch experience preferred.
• PJM GO Certification required within 6 months of employment.
• NERC Certification required within 12 months of employment.
• Able to demonstrate technical knowledge of plant and system processes.
• Available for 24-hour on-call duty to meet obligations to the Operations Team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

Nice to Have

• Experience with SCADA systems.
• Knowledge of functional system interactions in a regulated environment.
• Ability to coordinate multiple activities ensuring safety and quality adherence.
