Manager of Information Technology - Remote

About the Role

FedEx is seeking a dynamic Manager of Information Technology to join our Global Clearance organization. This remote Manager of Information Technology position will lead high-impact engineering teams responsible for building and operating scalable, cloud-native systems that power global clearance operations across the FedEx network. In this hands-on technical leadership role, you will blend engineering excellence, architectural vision, team development, and cross-functional collaboration.

What You'll Do

• Lead and grow a technical team delivering scalable, cloud-native solutions for Global Clearance operations.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance, set system architecture, and drive solution design and delivery.
• Partner with business, operations, and cross-functional technology teams to translate requirements into reliable, compliant solutions.
• Ensure systems meet standards for performance, security, scalability, and resiliency.
• Oversee development practices, and enforce engineering and architecture best practices.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive long-term corrective actions.
• Mentor team members, foster collaboration, and cultivate a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Manage risks, dependencies, and priorities across initiatives while balancing strategic and tactical needs.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, influencing decisions and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Requirements

• Proven background in technology leadership, including software development and systems architecture.
• Strong technical vision, innovation skills, and analytical problem-solving abilities.
• Effective leadership and project delivery capabilities.
• Clear and confident communicator with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Understanding of our technology stack, cybersecurity principles, and data management.
• Experience working in a Microsoft environment, managing technical teams.
• Experience working in the clearance domain and familiarity with European regulations.

Nice to Have

• Experience leading enterprise application development and/or solution architecture in mission-critical environments.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, integrations, and data flows.
• Experience with cloud platforms, middleware, and enterprise frameworks.
• Understanding of system performance, scalability, resiliency, and fault tolerance.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, including production support scenarios.
