Manager of Electric Operations - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Manager of Electric Operations to join our team in a remote capacity. This role is pivotal in overseeing the safe, reliable, and efficient generation and distribution of electricity to our customers. As a leader, you will manage multiple teams, maintain infrastructure, ensure regulatory compliance, and optimize operations through technology and data analysis.

What You'll Do

• Provide direction and coordination to the Eight Flags Generation and NE Florida Electric operations and maintenance functions with an emphasis on safety and efficiency.
• Supervise management of generation operations and electric construction and maintenance operations while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, local, and IBEW rules and regulations.
• Oversee budgeting, expenditures, long-term planning/forecasting, staffing, and resource allocation to meet operational demands and budget requirements.
• Serve as the subject matter expert for all FPSC regulatory activities, including Storm Protection Plan filings, Purchased Power Recovery annual filings, and Electric Rate Proceeding filings.
• Act as the Oversight Manager for all FERC, NERC, SERC, and FRCC activities, including standards development, annual standards review, and audits.
• Direct engineering specifications, material specifications, system planning, and coordination for distribution, substation, and transmission systems.
• Investigate electrical incidents and accidents, which may involve legal procedures, testimony, and deposition activities.
• Ensure construction and maintenance activities adhere to purchasing requirements and appropriate documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering or related technical fields.
• 10 years of progressive electric operations experience managing teams in transmission, distribution, and substation operations.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License.
• Strong knowledge of Electric Operations and FPSC rules and regulations.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present professionally to public groups.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other company applications such as SAP.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including emergency response and special projects.
• Strong analytical skills and decision-making abilities.

• Knowledge of electric tariff regulations.
• Experience in contract negotiations and grievance resolution.
