About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Linux Systems Administrator to join our team at Northrop Grumman. This role is not a remote work opportunity; you will be working on-site at our Linthicum, MD campus. As a Linux Systems Administrator, you will play a crucial role in supporting our government solutions, ensuring the security and efficiency of our systems. What You'll Do

  • Adhere to strict Information Systems security guidelines while providing support onsite, remotely, over the phone, and via email.
  • Analyze customer requirements to determine appropriate hardware and software solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers at all levels.
  • Create and maintain user and computer accounts in a Microsoft Active Directory environment.
  • Develop and document technical processes and procedures as needed.
  • Interact with vendors to troubleshoot issues and evaluate products and services.
  • Maintain security audit and logging information on all classified networked and standalone computers.
  • Perform as a Linux systems administrator for a classified government network, managing all aspects of the Linux footprint.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree and 7 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree and 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Active DoD Secret level security clearance.
  • Current Security+ CE, CISSP, CASP, or similar DoD 8570 or 8140 compliant security certification.
  • Experience managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems in an Active Directory domain environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in an IS related field.
  • Active or current DoD Top Secret security clearance.
  • Experience with DevOps architecture such as Kubernetes, Docker, and GitLab.
  • Knowledge of enterprise backup and restore solutions.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Bash, or PowerShell.
