Lift Truck Operator - Shipping (Remote Opportunity)

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Lift Truck Operator to join our shipping team at Owens Corning. This role offers a unique opportunity to work remotely while ensuring that all finished materials are accurately counted and stored. As a Lift Truck Operator, you will be responsible for loading and unloading freight in compliance with safety and operational procedures. This position is crucial for maintaining the efficiency and safety of our shipping operations.

What You'll Do

• Operate lift trucks safely and efficiently to load and unload finished products and raw materials.
• Ensure all finished materials are counted and placed in their proper storage locations.
• Participate in safety programs and adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
• Conduct inspections of vehicles before use and throughout shifts to maintain operational safety.
• Utilize SAP and IVC systems for paperwork and inventory management.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the shipping area and warehouse.
• Communicate effectively with team members regarding safety concerns and equipment issues.
• Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge related to forklift operations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision.
• Basic mathematics skills and high attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Ability to lift, push, and pull 40 lbs repetitively.
• Must be able to work flexible rotating shifts and mandatory overtime as required.
• Certification to operate a forklift is a plus.

Nice to Have

• Manufacturing or process-related experience preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Outlook, SAP, and IVC systems.
• Knowledge of warehouse storage areas and inventory management.
