Engineering Manager - Product Security (Remote)

About the Role

We are seeking an Engineering Manager for Product Security to join our team at Mural. This remote role offers an exciting opportunity to lead our enterprise security product suite, ensuring that we meet the highest standards of trust and security for our clients. As an Engineering Manager - Product Security (Remote), you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Mural's security offerings.

What You'll Do

• Lead technical execution hands-on: Contribute to the codebase alongside your team (30-40% of your time), setting the technical bar for enterprise-grade security products.
• Ship the security roadmap: Deliver DLP policy management and real-time SIEM integrations within your first 6-12 months, working backward from what CISOs need to approve Mural for their organizations.
• Build a team with clear ownership: Define Enterprise Security’s identity as a product area, establish key metrics (adoption, deal win rate, ARR from security SKUs), and create a roadmap that keeps enterprise customers engaged.
• Partner deeply with Product: Collaborate closely with your PM to shape what gets built based on technical feasibility and customer feedback.
• Maintain enterprise-grade operational excellence: Ensure services meet audit, compliance, and uptime expectations demanded by enterprise customers.

Requirements

• Enterprise security product experience: Proven track record in building security capabilities for CISO and IT admin personas, including DLP, SIEM integrations, and access controls.
• Deep technical expertise: 5+ years of experience shipping production code, ideally with Node.js/TypeScript and React.
• Engineering leadership experience: 2+ years managing a team of at least 3 engineers, with a history of building high-performing teams.
• Outcome-oriented and experimental with AI: Familiarity with AI tools throughout the development lifecycle.
• Ownership and pathfinding: Ability to take full accountability for team outcomes and create clarity for engineers.
• Remote-first fluency: Proficient in async communication and building team cohesion in a remote environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience with compliance frameworks (SOC2, FedRAMP, GDPR).
• Background in integrations with enterprise security tools (e.g., Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel).
• Prior experience at a company navigating the SMB-to-enterprise transition.
